Speaker: Wendy Shepherd

Wendy Shepherd is a Safety and Health Specialist who assists North Carolina industries in OSHA compliance, workplace safety and health program development and training. Wendy conducts work site assessments, customized training and is an authorized OSHA Outreach trainer for General Industry. Wendy has worked in both the public and private sectors during her 19 years of safety and health experience. She has been a Safety Compliance Officer, Health Compliance Officer and Health Consultant with the NC Department of Labor. She expanded her regulatory background by joining a global risk consulting firm – utilizing her safety experience for many Fortune 500 companies including analyzing workers compensation trends, development of programs and training, incident investigation, industrial hygiene sampling, safety and health managements systems, and OHSAS protocols, all while ensuring regulatory compliance for her clients. Ever continuing her knowledge base, Wendy has provided assistance within a university setting, manufacturing, financial, and construction environments. Wendy’s diverse experience allows her to fully understand the safety and health regulatory requirements of employers. Wendy has a B.S. in Environmental Health from East Carolina University. Her degree includes concentrations with both Public Health and Industrial Hygiene options. She has served on the board of the Eastern Carolina Safety and Health School for 7 years and is currently Treasurer. She is also an active board member for the NC Statewide Safety Conference.

Please Note:

NC State IES is providing free parking for all participants who register by 12:00 Noon on March 8, 2019. Participants will receive an e-mail with a link to redeem a parking pass. Park in the “Oval West Parking Deck” located on Partners Way (pre-selected). NC State has moved to license plate recognition, so there is nothing to print or display in your vehicle. You will be required to enter a license plate number upon claiming the pass. If you will not know your license plate number until the morning of the meeting, you can claim it then. Please do not back in or pull through when you park. Also, once you claim the pass be sure to use the same vehicle/license plate as we cannot modify the parking pass once it is claimed. If you have not redeemed a parking pass and park illegally, you may get a ticket. Enforcement is vigorous.

Note: You may also pay for parking. Poultion Deck is directly across from the Hunt Library. Debit and credit card only (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, & American Express). Cost is $3 for the first hour and $2 for each additional hour or portion of.
