Topic: Quantifying Noise and Vibration Exposure
Location: Brady Services or Zoom – register below for either option
Speaker: Jake Nurre, SaChE
The CDC estimates that every year 22 million workers are exposed to potentially dangerous noise levels. Noisy environments are often associated with moving equipment which may also cause health effects by transmitting vibrational energy to an operator or nearby worker. This presentation will cover the standards, measurement procedures and potential solutions for noise and vibration exposure in the workplace.
Jake received his Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati and became SaChE (Safety and Chemical Engineering Education) certified in 2019. During his schooling he interned in the EHS department at Duke Energy where he implemented inherently safe designs and quantified chemical exposure at production facilities. He has worked as a sales engineer for Larson Davis for 3 years and is currently working toward a Masters of Engineering in Acoustics through Penn State. https://www.linkedin.com/in/jake-nurre-8b6382b4/
