Julie Summers, P.E.

Julie Summers has over 25 years of EHS experience, primarily in the pharmaceutical industry in EHS engineering and management roles. She has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri – Columbia and is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri.
Julie has extensive experience in Environmental Compliance, Process Safety Management, Emergency Response, Incident Investigation, and auditing. More recently, she has broadened her focus to include occupational health and management of potent compounds.
Julie is currently Senior Director, EHS at Asymchem Inc, a US/China Based pharmaceutical contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) with a business office in Morrisville, NC, and R&D and manufacturing facilities in China. As part of her role, she travels to China at least five times per year (for at least 2 weeks at a time), where she audits against the EHS management system, mentors EHS personnel, conducts training, and manages external customer EHS audits. Prior to working at Asymchem, Julie worked at Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals at their Raleigh, NC and St. Louis, MO locations, as well as working in consulting conducting air emissions testing, environmental permitting, and compliance plan development.
