September Technical Meeting
September 8, 2022
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Abstract: At the beginning of the pandemic employers sent employees home to work, with little to no guidance regarding home office ergonomics. Employees may have been left to make decisions about their home office furniture, equipment, and setup, which could lead to discomfort.
Now that employees are increasingly being expected to return to the office, a number of new hurdles have been introduced. This session will focus on risk factor identification, home office solutions, home office ergonomics policy challenges, and the quickly-changing hybrid office work environments.
Presenter: Heather White is a Master Ergonomist for the Ergonomics Center housed in the Edward P. Fitts Department of
Industrial Systems Engineering at North Carolina State University. She provides ergonomics evaluations, training programs and process development expertise to companies in a broad range of industries including manufacturing, food processing and packaging, semiconductors, biotechnology and the office environment.
Heather earned a BS in Applied Mathematics from Appalachian State University and a Master of Industrial Engineering from North Carolina State University. She holds a CPE certification through the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics. Heather serves ASSP Region VI as Assistant Regional Vice President – Member & Chapter Affairs Chair, and Tarheel Chapter Delegate.
