Jennifer Bailey, Director of Safety and Health, Alabama Power Company & Southern Company Operations ServicesJennifer Bailey oversees the creation and implementation of an action-oriented safety and health strategy for these organizations, ensuring the safety and health policies meet all federal, state and local regulations. Prior to joining the company in 2015, Ms. Bailey served as the safety manager at American Cast Iron Pipe Company (ACIPCO), a position she began in 2003. She has also previously worked at Citation Corporation, Boral Bricks and the state of Utah Division of Occupational Health and Safety. In 2007, Bailey was named by U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao to serve as the management representative on the National Advisory Council for Occupational Safety and Health (NACOSH). Ms. Bailey earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental health from the University of Georgia and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Utah.
Todd Conklin, Ph.D., Author, Simple Revolutionary Acts: Ideas to Revitalize Yourself and Your WorkplaceTodd Conklin has served in the Human Resource and Reliability Management and Training arena for the last 15 years. National Public Radio has hosted him as a guest on “All Things Considered” and “Morning Edition.” Dr. Conklin speaks on Workplace Humor and Friendships, Workplace Violence, High-risk Conflict Organizational Development, and Training for Recognizing Unusual Behavior in the Workplace. Recent presentations include ideas on how to make changes in companies from what is considered the traditional views of safety concerns to the new Human Performance Safety Theory. He has a B.A. in Communication, Southwestern College; an M.A. in Interpersonal Communication, Fort Hays State University; and a Ph.D in Organizational Communication, University of New Mexico.
Tom Wilson, Author, Moments of ImpactTom Wilson is the Chief Financial Officer with a major earthworks contractor in Alberta Canada. He has made a career of managerial accounting and finance with global EPCM companies. Mr. Wilson is also a sole survivor of a 2008 plane crash that left him badly burned and fighting for his life. The story of the crash and his survival was chronicled in his 2015 book Moments of Impact. He now spends a portion of his time as the “Speaker in Residence” at the International Safety Institute where he devotes himself to making the world a safer place.
Roger Paules, Senior Marketing Manager, Energy Services, Duke EnergyRoger Paules is a seasoned energy executive and focuses on creating awareness and tools for the delivery of custom solutions to commercial, institutional and industrial customers for Duke’s Energy’s Services group. He began his career as a distribution engineer and has worked in nearly every facet of the industry including industrial sales, strategic planning, end use sales, demand response and marketing. Mr. Paules is an active professional in the utility industry, serving with distinction on committees for Advanced Energy, DOE’s Process Heating Committee, and the EPRI’s Industrial Business Unit. He traveled internationally on behalf of EPRI, consulting with European and New Zealand utilities on energy utilization and electro technologies.
