The Missing Link From Most Ergonomics Programs

In the never-ending quest to minimize the risk of costly sprains and strains in the workplace, companies turn to the time-tested principles of ergonomics.  But despite their best efforts to implement engineered and administrative controls, they often find themselves with a frustratingly high rate of soft tissue injuries.  The reason for this is that regardless of the ergonomic solutions provided by the employer, there is always going to be some degree of material handling in the workplace.  Therefore, it is important for employees to understand that the manner in which they interact with the equipment and materials, plays an important roll in reducing injury rates as well.  This discussion will focus on the most important concepts you need to teach your employees, as well as some simple but impactful tactics you can use during training sessions.  So that your workers can reduce their risk of sprains and strains by identifying, understanding, and controlling the risk factors which they have control over.
