Guest Speaker: Dr. Alex Albert, Associate Professor-North Carolina State University

Dr. Alex Albert is an Associate Professor of Construction Engineering in the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at North Carolina State University. Dr. Albert’s primary research expertise is in the area of construction safety. Much of his recent research has focused on developing practical  interventions to improve hazard recognition levels in the construction industry. His research has also leveraged wearable technology, augmented virtuality, and eye-tracking technology to address pressing safety challenges in the construction industry. Dr. Albert was recently recognized as one of the Top Young Professionals in 2021 by Engineering News-Record (ENR) Southeast. His research has been recognized with several awards by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Construction Research Congress (CRC), American Society of Engineering Education (ASEE), and others.

Dr. Albert received a PhD. in Civil Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder; a Master’s in structural engineering from Lehigh University, Pennsylvania; and a Bachelors in Civil Engineering from Anna University, India.
