For his technical expertise, his commitment to our profession and his many contributions to the American Society of Safety Professionals, Matt Wilcox has been recognized as the 2018-2019 North Carolina chapter Safety Professional of the Year (SPY). Matt has a diverse background in environmental, health, safety and fleet safety with experience in the food and beverage manufacturing, warehouse, and field operations life cycle. He begin his 2nd career in risk management in 1995 and has stayed within the food and beverage industry. He is currently the Director of Risk Control for Coca-Cola Consolidated Inc. where he has worked for 10 years. Matt obtained his CSP credential in 2012. Matt served in a number of capacities supporting the North Carolina chapter’s executive committee since joining the chapter in 2009. He was the Chapter President of the North Carolina chapter during the 2014-2015 chapter year, leading the chapter to a gold level year. Matt just completed a two year term as the Area Director for the southern chapters of Region VI. He was reelected to serve a three year term as the Southern Area Director for Region VI and is the Deputy Regional Vice President for Region VI.
